Spirited Away

10-year old Chihiro becomes trapped in a forbidden world of gods and magic when her parents take her to investigate the other side of the tunnel. In order to survive, Chihiro must work and make herself useful, and find within her the courage and resolve she needs to save her parents and escape from a world where humans are despised.

This is the first Ghibli Studio movie that I've watched and it really made me become interested with the Ghibli movies. At first, I thought that this movie was a very weird one. But as the story progresses, I found similarities with Alice in Wonderland, where Chihiro was stranded in the spirit's world. This story revolves in the importance of promises. The inhabitants in the spirit world are bound to every oathes they make and this includes Yubaba, the "boss" of the famous spa in the spirit world, where Chihiro was hired.
My favorite character in this film is Hakku, Yubaba's right hand and the river dragon god. I like his cool and collected personality. When Hakku and Chihiro met, the story started to have its twist and the plot of the story became more and more apparent. The most important characteristic of the film is its unpredictability. You would never expect the events that would happened next. It also includes some very weird and interesting characters, example would be Yubaba's giant baby and the spirit that keeps following Chihiro.
